🌟 A Little History About Our Agency & This Christmas Tree 🌟Every year, as we decorate our With Love Project Christmas tree, we’re reminded of where this mission began, and the incredible growth that has bloomed from one woman’s lived experience.In 2017, Ms. Whitney started this agency with nothing more than her story, her resilience, and a promise that no child in foster care would ever feel invisible. In the beginning, she didn’t know exactly how to help, she only knew why she needed to.When Ms. Whitney was a child in foster care, she was invited to the DFCS office to pick out her own Christmas gifts. There were no family visits. No festive traditions. But there was one teddy bear from her guardian ad litem, a teddy bear she still keeps. And the hair dryer she received as a Christmas gift back then? She still uses it today, even while preparing for major press conferences, speaking engagements, or leadership events. Because for a child in foster care, a gift isn’t seasonal.It becomes part of your identity… part of your survival… part of your story.In the early days of the agency, Ms. Whitney collected toys completely on her own, calling neighbors, visiting churches, rallying friends, and picking up every single donation by hand. She often gathered over 100 toys at a time, determined that every child in foster care felt seen and valued during the holidays.Today, that small but mighty mission has grown into a transformational movement.The With Love Project has expanded into multiple entities that now impact the entire foster care ecosystem. Every Christmas, we carefully hand-select our primary give recipients, choosing the the population that needs the most love and support. This year, we are serving children affected by domestic violence, something Ms. Whitney understands deeply from her own journey. And now, through her Brand Ambassador partnership with Chatham Subaru, our mission has grown wings, and wheels.🚗✨ Chatham Subaru is now our honorary vehicle fleet, helping us pick up toys across the community, transport them safely, and deliver them with dignity.
